Building a Tamiya TT-01E Euro Racing Truck: Unboxing to First Run!

Euro Truck Racing is a unique motorsport where modified semi-trucks (up to 1,100 horsepower!) compete on closed circuit race tracks, like those used in Formula 1 and touring car events. The 1/14 scale radio control version is also raced competitively! I first came across it while touring Amain Hobbies new facility in Chico. After checking out my first Euro Truck Race, Tamiya sent me a kit to build and feature on my channel.

The Tamiya TT-01E Euro Truck is a 1/14 scale R/C racing model assembly kit which includes a motor and speed control. From unboxing to upgrades, painting the body, decal application and the first test run –  I cover it all. I also share some insider setup tips I learned from friends who race these competitively.

This specific kit body  is modeled after Hungarian driver Norbert Kiss’s Mercedes Actros raced by the Tankpool24 team in the 2019 ETRC (European Truck Racing Championship). Kiss is currently tied for the most title wins in the ETRC.

Something to be aware of if you’re planning to build and race your own Euro Truck – each track has its own set of rules for what is allowed as far as mods and upgrades. Definitely know the specific rules before building your truck!
