Should you weight your Traxxas TRX-4?

SHOULD YOU WEIGHT YOUR TRAXXAS TRX-4??

After a year of owning the Traxxas TRX-4 Land Rover Defender trail truck, most of the upgrades I’ve done have been aesthetic. Lights, body details, scale accessories… As a trail truck with a top-heavy body, this platform is never going to be as capable as a competition-built chassis. However, I’ve been curious whether performance upgrades like brass weight could make the rig more capable on the trails.

In this video, I installed Yeah Racing metal hop-up kits, including the Metal Axle Housing set and the brass upgrade set, which totals 700 g. I did a before and after comparison of the TRX-4 out to my crawler course to see if we see any changes in performance due to the added weight.
